Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the NoteMarket Zimbabwe platform ("Platform"), operated by NoteMarket (Private) Limited ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the Platform you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Platform. By creating an account you represent that you meet this requirement. Students under 18 should have parental or guardian consent.
2. Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must provide accurate information when creating an account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we believe to be fraudulent.
3. Free Trial
New accounts receive a 14-day free trial with full platform access. No credit card is required to start a trial. At the end of the trial period, your access to subscriber-only features (reading notes, Aura AI) will be paused unless you subscribe. Uploading notes and earning from views remains free forever — no subscription required.
4. Beta Pricing
During the beta period (until we reach 500 paying subscribers), subscription prices are:
- Student: $1.99/month
- Student Premium: $3.99/month
- Educator: $7.99/month
Members who subscribe during the beta period will have their subscription price locked at the beta rate for as long as they maintain an active subscription. If a subscription lapses and is restarted after beta pricing ends, the then-current pricing applies. Full launch prices ($4.99, $7.99, $14.99/month respectively) apply to new subscribers after the beta period closes.
5. Payments and Refunds
Subscriptions are billed monthly via Paynow Zimbabwe (EcoCash, OneMoney, Telecash, Visa/Mastercard, ZIPIT, Innbucks). Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled. You may cancel at any time through your account settings — cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods except where required by law.
6. Uploader Payouts
50% of monthly subscription revenue is distributed to uploaders proportionally based on unique qualifying views (30-second minimum, one view per user per note per day). Payouts are processed via EcoCash by the 5th of the following month. A minimum balance of $1 is required before payout. We reserve the right to withhold payouts from accounts that violate these Terms.
7. Acceptable Use
You must not use the Platform to:
- Upload content you do not own or have rights to share
- Upload spam, gibberish, hate speech, or sexually explicit content
- Upload complete copyrighted textbooks or commercial study guides without authorisation
- Manipulate view counts or payout calculations through artificial means
- Harass, abuse, or harm other users
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or copy the Platform
8. Content and Copyright
You retain ownership of the notes you upload. By uploading, you grant NoteMarket (Private) Limited a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, display, and distribute your notes to paying subscribers through the Platform. We may remove content that violates these Terms without notice.
9. Aura AI
Aura is an AI study assistant powered by Anthropic's Claude. AI responses are for educational assistance only and should not be relied upon as authoritative academic, legal, medical, or professional advice. We do not guarantee the accuracy of AI-generated content.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Zimbabwean law, NoteMarket (Private) Limited shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the three months preceding the claim.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through the Platform at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Zimbabwe. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Zimbabwe.
